Your decision makers should have all the information they need in order to craft a well-rounded and effective cybersecurity strategy. It’s more than just checking off boxes… it’s understanding how your business operates, how it differs from that of your competitors, how to truly get the best return out of your security investment.
“Growth” and “security” seem like two concepts that simply don’t mix. Most organizations worry that by investing in cybersecurity they are funneling their money into a segment of their enterprise that won’t help them scale up. They are wrong. A cybersecurity strategy helps expand your reach, create new services, approach new clients, & craft new products.
Your software & technology are constantly being updated at massive expense. But there is something that can’t be so easily updated – your staff. 88% of all cybersecurity breaches are a direct result of human error, or simply human negligence. That’s why we take a human-centered approach by crafting a cybersecurity strategy that works with your entire company, humans included.
At Headstorm, we have a team of employees who organize fun events that give everyone a space to participate, connect and genuinely enjoy themselves.
We examine and catalogue your current tech stack, assess any legacy or technical debt that has been created, and prioritize a strategy for you that aligns with your business goals.
We are library agnostic and pick the tools which makes the most sense for the client. Ultimately delivering well-tested, extensible and scalable solutions that can grow with you for many years to come.
Headstorm’s homegrown methodology of outcomes over effort through developing a mindset of habits and processes. We used it to create an open-source UI library that is made to be remade and focuses on human-centered design.
It helps us build interactive and dynamic single page applications through its compelling features like templating, two-way binding, modularization, RESTful API handling, dependency injection, and AJAX handling.
The main purpose of using react is to deliver fast, scalable, and simple web and mobile applications that can grow with the client. While allowing the web application to change data without constantly reloading the page.
While C# has been has primarily been used to build Windows applications and games it is becoming increasingly popular for mobile developers. This allows developers to create almost anything using a particularly strong language.
Kotlin is designed to be compatible with JAVA while allowing developers to simplify the coding process. Which leads to less technical debt as they are able to integrate legacy applications without writing an excess of code.
Giving designers the ability to build librarians of reusable components over time, that they can use as a head start on any existing design system. When a component is changed in the central library those changes reflect globally.
By transporting data in batches your systems are ingesting your data at a slower rate. Automating data processing ensures you have a real-time view of your data.
It’s difficult to know that you are getting the most accurate and timely data if it is siloed. Know where your data is needed by having it all in one place.
For any data-driven organization, it’s vital that your data is up-to-date and accurate. Otherwise, you can’t draw out those golden insights that drive your decisions.
Maintaining agility within your data organization enables you to add new data sources. Enabling your data pipelines & API platforms to scale with you.
Receiving real-time internal data complemented by 3rd party information. Instead of relying on predominantly internal and historical information.
Most granular level view of device-specific signals for each customer. As opposed to an aggregated view at a per location level across markets.
Predictive, self-learning algorithms with constant improvement. Bringing better information to your fingertips than is available through backward-focused analytics.
Moving from batch updates to streaming data makes it more usable. Enabling your leadership to make data-driven decisions fed by automated processes and systems.
Easy listening for the C-suite, this session discusses industry impacts and offers guidance on ransomware incident response for any budget.
We started with a mindset of outcomes over effort, and developed that mindset into habits as a process. Today, it’s how we run our own projects, and how we guide yours. Foundry isn’t a thing — it’s a way.
Here’s where Sales, Product and Engineering come together for a positive sum. When big ideas emerge, we front-load them with the best people to surface the stakeholders’ underlying motivations and map the risk: benefit landscape. We accelerate a commitment to yes, in whatever form it takes — doing so ensures accountability and efficient resourcing to mitigate the path dependency and slow burns rampant in traditional business initiatives.
What we’ve made a best practice at Headstorm, we deploy to clients as immersive workshops built in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University.
We validate, iterate and fund our own products through an internal incubation cycle. Part of being a Headstormer means having the bandwidth to pursue impactful ideas, and we use validation to stress test those ideas with data-driven & fail-fast mindsets. Each idea evolves over 4 phases with biweekly proceed-or-pivot decisions. The best of the best get funded to launch as commercial products (Kurb.io) or open-source (Foundry UI). And when ideas hit their incubation ceiling, the project owner absorbs and communicates lessons learned so we all grow.
One of our first Foundry processes produced a system so useful,
we named it after the process itself.
Foundry UI is an extensible interface system – meaning it sustains (and grows) with a product from POC to MVP to launch to avoid bogging down designers & devs as new releases are built, and preserves a familiar interface as users receive those new releases.
From winning a 48-hour civic hackathon to launching betas
in select cities, Headstorm-powered Kurb exemplifies how we practice what we preach.
Kurb.io is a collaborative city planning tool, developed to bring “tactical urbanism” to the masses while we’re all rethinking our use of space amidst Covid-19. The free beta
is now available.
